Sometimes life doesn't go the way we planned.
Sometimes babies cry, kids pitch a fit, parents feel flustered,
Life is not perfect, and these beautifully imperfect moments are the memories you'll cherish for always.
let me explain.
You probably wouldn't know it by looking at this photo, but moments before these little girls were in a TIZZY as
their mom and dad were taking photos together. These little angels were tired and only wanted to be held by Mom. (which is absolutely normal and they are not the first, nor will they be the last littles to do this at a photo session by the way!)
We finished our quick photos and this Mama bent down and brought comfort to her babies.
I was able to snap this photo of her being the superhero mom that her little girls know her to be.
In that moment I thought "Wow, she has so much grace."
Once I saw this image I thought "WOW. Motherhood is SO beautiful."
Not only was the lighting just *chefs kiss* oh so lovely, and this Mama and her girls are STUNNING no matter what photo they're in, but this moment is just BEAUTIFUL.
It wasn't anything grand or out of the norm, and I guarantee it was not what this Mama had planned for this photo session... but it got me thinking.
the most beautiful moments are not the posed "picture-perfect moments" of our lives... It's these.
It's being what your children need, when they need, it.
It's showing up authentically.
It's pausing your plan to care for those around you.
It's the moments that look like and feel like a mess that really make the most meaningful memories.
I'd be willing to bet that 20 years done the road when these little girlies are off to college or their first big job those are the photos that Mama will treasure the most.
Yes, the other beautiful photos from this session will always be treasured.
Those kiddos (and parents) will never be the same as they were that day in that photo. Each photo will be a sweet reminder of this specific season in their lives.
but these.. the "Messy Memories" will be the cherished ones...
Why?
Because they capture the very essence of motherhood. They display her just being the Mom that her babies needed at that very moment.
She may or may not have even realized that this photo was being taken. But you can see the selfless love written all over her face for her babes.
The moments of "just being a mom" are the most precious.
They are REAL. They are AUTHENTIC, They are PRICELESS.
They deserve to be documented and preserved for all of time.
